The creative spark of CAFE TU TU TANGOFlorida's Coconut Grove has a long and respectable history as a colony for artists. Throughout the 50s, artists from all over the world came to settle in "the Grove." It was not uncommon to find artists setting up easels on sidewalks, painting scenes and portraits of passers-by. This creative spirit resonates throughout Coconut Grove to this day, even as the area has grown into one of Miami's most famous tourist destinations, In 1991, Bradley Weiser sought to capture the lively and festive ambiance of the Grove and focus it into a unique dining experience. So he created CAFÉ TU TU TANGO, destined to become the world's greatest art-themed restaurant. Welcome to the Party! However, instead of crafting the first CAFÉ TU TU TANGO around the Grove's tropical art scene, Weiser went back to the source. He looked to Europe's bohemian artist culture that has essentially defined the character of artists for more than a century. Imagining an artist's loft in Spain, Weiser modeled the restaurant upon the freewheeling notion of a shared studio, where like-minded artists would share food, drink, techniques, stories and ideas in a non-stop party atmosphere. The first CAFÉ TU TU TANGO captured this joyful reverie perfectly, and the party had begun. Taking the (culinary) art world by stormThe first CAFÉ TU TU TANGO became a stunning success, winning accolades from locals and visiting tourists alike. It wasn't long before the pressure was on to share CAFÉ TU TU TANGO with a larger audience. So Weiser opened a second location in Atlanta's Buckhead area, and again found success. Indeed, eager crowds would applaud CAFÉ TU TU TANGO wherever a restauant was opened. Another CAFÉ TU TU TANGO was opened on International Drive in Orlando, followed by another masterpiece in Orange County, California in 1998. In 2000, another opened at Universal City Walk in Hollywood. Additional future locations are constantly being scouted and identied by the TANGO team. A true artistic movementIt's curious to note that just as artists sharing ideas and techniques inspired and propelled artistic movements like impressionism, modernism, and dada, so does the CAFÉ TU TU TANGO experience continue to spread. As more and more patrons discover CAFÉ TU TU TANGO for themselves, more are sharing the delight with friends over a table of good drink and excellent food. Experience it for yourself the next time you're in Miami, or at any of the other unique locations where CAFÉ TU TU TANGO is already a big hit. After all, life is too short to not share in the party.
